New Hunter Business is a consortium made up of the three Business Enterprise Centres in the Hunter Region. These are:
• The Business Centre Newcastle Region
• Business Growth Centre Gateshead
• Hunter Region Business Enterprise Centre Kurri Kurri
Under the guidance of our Steering Committee, New Hunter Business is contracted by The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) to oversee the delivery of the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) throughout the Hunter, Central Coast, Great Lakes and Keepit areas of NSW. New Hunter Business is a member of the National NEIS Association.
What is NEIS?
NEIS is an initiative of the Federal Government that provides assistance to Centrelink clients who are looking to become independently supported.
NEIS Assistance includes small business management training and business plan development, NEIS allowance for up to 52 weeks, business mentoring and ongoing support during the first year of business operation.
NEIS offers small business training, income support and advice during the first year of your business, and will help you to develop the skills and plan needed to ensure that your business can survive and grow.
